Renier van Rensburg
Chief Finance Officer

Renier joined the Atterbury Group in April 2012 as CFO of the newly formed Atterbury Africa Fund. He qualified as a CA(SA) in 1999 and completed his articles with Ernst & Young. Since completing his articles he has held various senior management and executive positions. He spent most of his time in the medical and property developed industries. Here he has been responsible for managing various administrative departments and fulfilling the role of CFO. He has a keen interest in supporting and mentoring of employees to reach their organizations’ goals. He has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, structuring and implementing of new projects.

WYNAND BAARD
FINANCE MANAGER

Wynand finished his articles at Deloitte and qualified as CA (SA) in 2009. He then joined the corporate division at Famous Brands Ltd, where his main responsibilities were group- reporting and tax. He was involved in the restructuring of the group and mergers and acquisitions. He joined the Atterbury Group in 2011 as group finance manager of Atterbury Investment Holding Ltd, before moving to the Africa division in 2013.

Mark Korten
Attorney Korten Consulting Ltd

Mark is a specialist (locally and internationally) in tax and commercial law having gained over 18 years of experience. He has extensive expertize in considerations, negotiations, mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring, shareholder agreements, leases and service agreements. Mark has two degrees, the first a Bachelor of Commerce, with majors in Accounting and Economics and a Bachelor of laws from the University of Cape Town as well as a High Diploma in Tax Law. He has given valuable insight to clients on legal issues, fund management, financial services, labour broking and commodity exploration in Africa. He is the co-founder of Korten Hipener Faber Goërtz and is involved in entrepreneurial ventures such as his company called Resourcing for Africa.

Mark immigrated to Mauritius in 2008, where he remains a permanent resident. He is one of the first foreign attorney’s to be licensed under the regulation laws of Mauritius. Mark is practising as an independent advisor and international tax consultant for Korten Consulting Ltd as well as acting as director for Mauritius-based companies. Mark is a member of the exchange control and tax matters committee at the Law society of South Africa and he is a member of the South Africa-Mauritius Chamber of Commerce. He has been published and lectures at the University of San Diego as well as seminars.

Wilhelm Nauta
Chief Investment Officer - Hyprop

Wilhelm has extensive experience in investment analysis, investment management, business strategy and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He started his career at Deloitte & Touche (financial institutions team) in Johannesburg, before joining BJM Securities as an investment analyst in the banking, insurance and property sectors. He subsequently worked for Royal Bafokeng Holdings as a manager in the strategic investments area, and for the Blend Property Group as an executive director and chief investment officer. Wilhelm joined Hyprop in 2016 and is responsible for M&A and investment activities.

Peter de Villiers
Chief Investment Officer – Attacq

Peter studied BCom Accounting Sciences at the University of Pretoria and completed his articles at Deloitte, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2002. Thereafter, he worked at Deloitte Corporate Finance, BJM Corporate Finance Proprietary Limited and One Capital prior to joining Attacq in March 2013.

He is currently the Chief Investment Officer of Attacq.
